Taitung in Ease: Crafting Horizons

"Taitung in Ease: Craft Horizons" is an international exhibition co-curated by the Taitung County Government and Taiwan Designers’ Web, marking its second appearance at Chiang Mai Design Week. Featuring 12 local brands, the exhibition directly responds to the event’s theme, "Local Plus," highlighting the power of local culture to expand outward through design.

The exhibition is organized into three chapters to showcase Taitung’s creative energy. First, "Co-creating Futures" displays contemporary works co-developed by artisans and designers. Second, "Living with Craft" features a selection of local brands and products that show the connection between handmade crafts and daily life. Finally, "Weaving with the Land" focuses on indigenous rattan weaving and its deep relationship with the land. Through these three layers, we present the full evolution of Taitung crafts—from traditional roots to modern transformation—conveying the city’s unique brand values to a global audience.

The project also marks the start of international promotion for the "2026 Taitung Expo." With the core theme "Slow for Life," the upcoming expo will feature 13 exhibitions and 12 iconic events to show global audiences a future path for slow living and aesthetics. Through this initiative, we warmly invite travelers from around the world to experience Taitung.
